Davidson County Schools Summer Symposium 2026

This summer session will focus on implementing differentiated instruction in CTE classrooms to meet the diverse academic, technical, and career readiness needs of all students. Participants will explore practical strategies for modifying content, process, and products to increase engagement, strengthen skill development, and support learner success in hands-on, career-focused settings. The session will also provide opportunities to design classroom-ready activities, share ideas with peers, and create a plan for applying differentiated instruction in ways that enhance student achievement and prepare learners for future careers.

In this session, participants will explore practical strategies to make PLCs more collaborative, student-centered, and results-driven. This session will focus on using data purposefully, strengthening team communication, and creating actionable systems that support student growth. This hands-on session is designed for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers and CDCs to build proficiency in the NCCTE Admin Platform. Participants will learn how to navigate the system to verify student enrollment, confirm accommodations, and access vital instructional resources. This workshop focuses on ensuring data accuracy for teacher effectiveness and streamlining the pre- and post-testing process.

Designed for high school educators launching the NCDPI CS10 Introduction to Computer Science course, this fast-paced session provides a strategic overview of the course framework, key resources, and essential pedagogical approaches.

Foundations of Math is a course designed for our students that need additional support before taking high school Math 1. This course has been redesigned by DCS teachers. In this session we will go through the what and the why - what changed and why it changed.  If you are teaching Foundations of Math this session is for YOU!  An important part of this session will be time to PLC with other teachers.

Going back into an English 2 classroom after a 10-year hiatus enlightened me in ways I never expected to experience. Students have changed in their levels of intelligence, specifically how they think and express it to relay what they really know.
